2018 CANstruction World Conservation

April 6, 2018

CANstruction’s mission is to provide hunger relief assistance by collecting canned food for distribution to local food banks while promoting the design/build industry. CANstruction hosts competitions, exhibitions, and events showcasing colossal structures made entirely of full cans of food. After the structures are built, the creations are on display to the public as a giant art exhibition.

The 2018 World Conservation theme is meant to raise awareness and show commitment to world conservation and preserving our resources, especially those that support the protection and growth of our world's food supply.

Participants include teams of architects, engineers, contractors, designers, and students attending schools of architecture, engineering, and design.

We are truly grateful for the generous donations of either funds, time, or venue

you have given in support of our Canstruction build this year!

We could not have done it without your help and

would love to see you all out at the event on April 6th!

We have raised over 50,000 cans of food this year for the food bank. Big Picture - that's at least 42,000 meals to local families. What's cool about that is that all those cans are on display in ‘Save Our Planet’ themed designs for all to see on First Friday, April 6th. Even cooler is that all the build sites are partners with the AIA Triangle and advocates for good design and the prosperity of downtown Raleigh.
