The AIA Triangle Board of Directors governs the overall execution of the organization’s mission. Principally, the Board manages organizational finances and

sets long term priorities for programs. Additionally, the Board oversees the Executive Director, who is responsible for day-to-day management of AIA Triangle programs. Overall, the members of the Board contribute professional, management, educational, financial, and legal skills needed to ensure long term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year excellence for its membership.

The Board of Directors has up to 11 voting members. Officer terms are for one year or until a successor has qualified. Each elected and appointed Director

shall serve a term of two years or until a successor has qualified.

Board Member responsibilities include attendance at six in-person meetings per year, as well as attendance at the Fall Membership Meeting, Board retreat(s),

and active electronic conversations as part of Board committees. In some years the Board has held additional meetings. Board members also hold a fiduciary responsibility for management of organizational capital and ensuring appropriate filings with federal, state, and local authorities consistent with the AIA’s
