Mission of Women in Architecture

Women in Architecture (WIA) supports female participation in the profession by providing opportunities for women in architectural careers to support and learn from each other. The goal of Women in Architecture is to support diversity in AIA by empowering female architects in all stages of their career to achieve professional and personal growth by providing opportunities to network with potential mentors and connect to resources in an environment that allows sharing of professional experiences and support of one another.

Interested in getting involved or learning more?

The Women in Architecture Task Force (core team) has planning meetings 3 to 4 times per year. Event planning tasks are divided among the core team, with follow up activities requiring a total time commitment averaging four hours each month outside of events attendance. Attendees of WIA activities may choose to assist with event setup or take down for a role with less time commitment.

Contact task force chair, Brittany Eaker-Kirkland at if you are interested in learning more about the task force, upcoming activities and opportunities to get involved. Participation is open to AIA Triangle members including Allied Members. Prospective members are invited to learn more.
