Lynne Leach, Co-Owner and Office and Sales Manager of Unique Concepts will present an overview of the second edition of the Architectural Woodwork Standards released October 1, 2014.  The AWS is a joint publication of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), The Woodwork Institute (WI) and the Architectural Woodwork Manufactures Association of Canada (AWMAC)

 Learning Objectives:
  • Discuss the basic application of the Architectural Woodwork Standards to project
  • Introduce the format of the standard and how to reference material within the standards
  • Identify which areas apply to conformance assessment and which are for guidance information only
  • Highlight a few key changes between AWS Edition 1 and AWS Edition 2
  Bio/Speaker Profile:







Lynne Leach is the Office and Sales Manager of Unique Concepts, as well as a Co-Owner.

She has been with the company since its beginning in 1994, and is responsible for a wide range of tasks, including accounting, HR, keeping the website and marketing materials up-to-date, and maintaining customer relationships.  She is an active member of the Carolinas Chapter of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, and has been a member of the AWI Speakers’ Bureau since 2007.

Before joining Unique Concepts, Lynne had experience in the hospitality industry with point of sale systems, as well as accounting and human resource software systems.

Lynne grew up in Moundsville, West Virginia, attended Virginia Tech, and completed her bachelor’s degree at The University of Houston.  She is Treasurer of the Raleigh-Durham chapter of CSI, and is the Membership Chairperson for the Southeast Region of CSI.  She has also served as Triangle City Center Director for IIDA.

Unique Concepts is a manufacturer of custom contract furniture, and was founded in 1994 by Fred Leach.
