LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Learn how to identify some of the “danger zones” in Owner- drafted contracts that can increase liability and cause a possible denial of coverage by your professional liability insurer.
  2. Describe and explain what types of claims are being brought against design professionals in courtrooms across North Carolina and provide practical claim avoidance strategies
  3. Present case studies and scenarios in order to sharpen and improve decision making by design professionals during construction phase services
  4. Explore strategies for dealing with documentation and communication during the life of a project
