Justin Weaver, EI – Project Manager

 

Mr. Weaver serves as a Project Manager for ECS. His experience includes building envelope consulting services relating to roofing, exterior wall and below-grade waterproofing assemblies for existing buildings and new construction. Specific duties include review and preparation of reports, quality assurance observations, diagnostic investigation of existing building envelope assemblies, and field testing services of new construction assemblies related to the building envelope. Mr. Weaver’s additional experience includes Property Condition Assessments, structural design, and utilization of rope access to evaluate and test structures at height.

 

Presentation will include:

 

  • Roof System Life Cycle – A discussion of a roofing system from design/bid and installation/inspection to expected service life and assessment for replacement.
  • Quality Control vs. Quality Assurance – Doing the job right the first time engages a discussion of the planning stages during design and pre-construction and implementation of a quality assurance program.
  • Design & Preconstruction – Understanding building envelope design criteria as a basis for selection of materials and the importance of pre-construction meetings to ensure documents are complete, scheduling and sequencing are achieved and proper procedures are understood.
  • 4 major Roofing Assembly Types – Asphalt roofing, thermoset roofing and thermoplastic roofing will be discussed with pros and cons for each.
  • Construction Problems – Is FM rating required? Fastener pattern and perimeter zone width for uplift? Material storage, weather and common installation issues will be discussed.
